MIS 750 - THE CLASS WE WILL SURELY MISS
The Crazy Bunch! MIS 750 class - led by non other Dr Norzaidi Mohd Daud |
ALL ABOUT MIS 750
Associate Professor Dr Norzaidi is one of the notable lecturer in UiTM Shah Alam. On top of his outstanding achievements which you could read elaborately from his his blog (http://classdrzaidi.blogspot.my), he is also a committed father to his children and a wonderful husband to a loving wife. In this page, I would describe him personally rather than professionally - just to give you a closer bond to his personality and lovable character.
Let me tell you my own experience..
For the purpose of discussion and exchange of information, we created a wattsap group. In this group, all we did was discussing about studies (so untrue!)...haha!Through wattsapp, we meet online to discuss on many many things. Interest, upcoming events, birthdays, current political issues, gossips, exchange pictures, etc.
When Zul (our class rep) told us that the MIS class will be done in a more compressed approach, some of us resist it. Knowing that we need the class to learn especially those who have no background whatsoever in the subject, some gave diverse feedback of wanting to let the class flow conventionally.Truthfully, I was also sceptical at first.
But soon after realising the concept which Dr.Zaidi intend to embrace, I jumped to the chance instantly!
His class is extremely interactive! Before each presentation, he explains the content of the topic of discussion. Right after, he let us talk, discuss, learn in a more realistic settings - the industrial experience.
All of us, i mean most of us in class are working adults. Some may have the rightful wish of becoming home maker (I am so jealous!) but regardless, we all have experienced the working life. Getting the opportunity to learn from the classmates with outstanding background is an opportunity not to be missed.
Dr Zaidi is hilarious! In which, this quality makes the class stress-free and we hardly look at the watch to see where the time lead us to. The class is always filled with laughters and we get to speak openly, eat and have drinks in class (where this flexibility really helps us to stay energetic and awake as the class usually starts at about 9am - the hardest time is after lunch where we are mellowed down and ready to go home!) and to top it all, we get to throw questions and get information that is only released between four walls.
To sum it, you can't beat this class - that is if you get Dr.Zaidi to lead you through MIS.

WHAT WE HAVE GAINED SO FAR:
1. Fun
2. Fun
3. Fun
Learn, learn and learn!
That's all we did! We have gained so much knowledge, all of which you can't get from any text book. These are real life experience shared by all of us in class.
Through it all, we had so much fun learning and absorbing these information. We had Dr.Zaidi to facilitate each of these classroom sessions and he did it tremendously.
This class, by far, the best academic setting for UiTM and I strongly urge that UiTM starts to revamped their academic programs (from the conventional exam oriented to interactive adult way of learning and experiencing literature knowledge).
I look forward to this class each week!

OUR ACTIVITIES
In the first few weeks, what we did was - each group will have a maximum of 3 members and each of these groups will present chapters from the course outline. Total chapters are 10 and each of it talks about the functions of MIS in the current environment.
Next week, to wrap up the subject, we will have a final test where this contributes to about 50% from the total marks.
Lastly, as planned, we will close the class with makan-makan session where each of us shall bring a pot of food (pot luck) where we will share them and eat as one big happy family.
I'll post and share the pictures to you soon!
This is updated today - 15 Nov 2015, the last day of the class where we had our final exam and end the class with makan-makan and as usual, to wrap up, a photo session.
