IKEA FAMILY CARD

Last week, when I went to IKEA to search for my bed covers (I love the bed cover prints in IKEA, modern and contemporary look!)..and as usual, before I step in to the "market area", I wanted to make sure that my IKEA family card is in my wallet.

But, to my surprise it wasn't there! :( (PANIC ATTACK!!)

With the purchase I am about to make and the extended benefits offered by the card, I feel like running back to my car parked at B2 and rummage the car, in case I have dropped them in there. If it's not in the car, I want to run back home to search for them (these are all exaggerating thinking - as my husband would always say to me, lol!)

These was some of the things I'm going to miss (without the card):

With a bitter heart, I walked IKEA's floor with anger to no one but myself.

I feel dull, no mood whatsoever to continue this journey to follow the arrows on the floors of IKEA store.

Suddenly, a light came through the tunnel!

I saw it!

THE IKEA FAMILY SYSTEM

I couldn't believe my eyes. The card system has become mobile and it is everywhere. The system is self-service and you could have the card printed instantly. I am back to my motion again and gain back the energy,instantaneously!

OK,OK, before I start with how I did it, let me tell you a little bit about the

IKEA FAMILY

IKEA FAMILY is a loyalty program designed for people who love their homes, and love to shop at IKEA. Product discounts, special offers, ideas and inspiration, and more. And best of all… it’s free to join.

1. Every month, IKEA place a new selection of products on sale with special members-only prices just for IKEA FAMILY members. These are products across our entire product range – everything from mattresses to kitchens to candles.

2. Every month, IKEA randomly select one lucky IKEA FAMILY member from each store, who wins a RM 100 IKEA Gift Card. Just swipe our card whenever we make a purchase, or simply check-in by scanning your card at one of the in-store IKEA FAMILY kiosks, and we are entered for a chance to win!

3. IKEA FAMILY Members get free coffee or hot tea every time they visit. Simply show your IKEA FAMILY card to the cashier in the IKEA Restaurant and at Every month, IKEA FAMILY Members get discounts on selected items in our in-store IKEA Restaurant, or in our Swedish Food Shop.

How does IKEA FAMILY CARD looks like?

Now, the above is the actual card given to you - embossed, durable material and printed with your name on it - very classy.

But, if you like to apply for a temporary card (but of course, you need to use another person's details - in my case I have the temporary card placed on my husband's name) - you can do it through the self-service kiosk.

How do you do it? Simple! I'll guide you one step at a time.

1st, a quick selfie with the KIOSK. Just to give you a glimpse on what to target when you are there!

STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO REGISTER FOR TEMPORARY IKEA FAMILY CARD

STEP 1 - Click "REGISTER NOW" at the following window:

If you are at the IKEA store, the KIOSK will direct you to the page above. All you need to do is click "register now" and then a quick step by step registration will begin.

STEP 2 - Fill up you personal details

Fill up your personal details as required above. Make sure you don't miss the (*)

STEP 3 - Acknowledge the terms & conditions

At this page, you will to select your preferred promotion notification, either via mail, email, SMS, phone call. You can also opt for no notification at all but bear in mind what you will miss - all the good stuff that's coming to you!

Don't forget to select your preferred language too!

Lastly, seal it off with checking the last box that says "I have read and fully understood the terms & conditions of the membership".

STEP 4 - Print your card

When the notification below pops out, means you are done with the registration and can immediately claim the temporary pass card.
